Chris is a great tutor. He steps back initially letting you think about how to answer questions and if he sees you’re stuck he helps in a way that you will understand and remember. All notes are sent over for you to look over and use to help with practice exams and pass papers. Overall I highly recommend Chris and The Exam Tutor!

Long version:

nearly 20 years ago, I failed my GCSE science. And I’ve had a chip on my shoulder ever since. Whilst I could get some things done without it, it always stopped my progressing in certain fields. At the age of 34 I decide that I want to get a formal teaching qualification and need to take a biology exam. Not long after trying to self teach I realise I desperately need help….

Enter Wahhab: He takes on this impossible task of teaching me a full GSCE bio syllabus in just under 2 months, working 3 to 4 nights a week with me, 2 hour sessions. I start to recognise his face more then my own wife. He has the patience of a saint for every time I was exhausted from work and asking him to repeat what he had just said. for every time he I said ‘no sorry I don’t understand.’ he would always thank me for saying that, I realised that I was not longer in ‘school’. where I was judged and fell behind. I was being celebrated for my little victories, when I did exam questions for him and they came back ok. i will never forget the first time he said ‘5/5 well done!’. I swore so loud my wife came running in! I did not believe in myself, but he believed in me.

Fast forward to exam week. I get the worst flu I’ve ever had. I am cancelling precious last lessons. (remember, we had 2 months and now I’m cutting it down due to sickness….) Wahhab is messaging me saying ‘i know that your sleep pattern might be messed up, If you wake up at 4am and feel like you could take a lesson then, we can do it then!’ this is when I realised that Wahhab is not built from the same stuff as normal teachers or tutors. He is an absolute forse of nature, determined to help you see your goal, be is med school, 11 plus or an old fart like me getting his GCSE finally done.

Exam day: I am still full of flu, having had plenty of ‘Good luck’ messages from Wahhab. it starts. The questions seem….dare I say……easy. I know how to attack them. only 1 or 2 small ones I felt a little lost on on. But the vast majority I felt I could easy eat up with the strategy that Wahhab and I practiced again and again.

The day before I booked Wahhab I got 27% in an official Mock exam. Big fail.

For my real GCSE equivalency, I got a level 6. (Thats a high B, in the old money…)

And you know what? the first person I texted was Wahhab. before anyone else, because I knew how excited he was for me. I could not wait to tell him how well we did. because it felt like ‘we’.

I 100% recommend Wahhab as a tutor. I am off to do my educational post graduate (early years initial teacher training…) because we concored GCSE biology together. forever grateful.
